Swimming Carnival Run Down

Congratulations to everyone who turned up, competed and cheered their faction on at the swimming carnival yesterday. I was blown away by the effort and good sportmanship everyone showed on the day. It made me so proud to be your teacher! Thank you to everyone who was also so lovely to my son Kees, who I brought along for the day.

Below is a fabulous summary of the highlights written by Maddie and Cate.

 The Swimming Carnival

The swimming carnival was a huge success thanks to Mrs Day, Mr Stott, Mrs Edwards, the parent volunteers and most of all, Mr Stringer!  The mighty Stirling won with a leading score of 355 points, taking back the victory from Mitchell. Mitchell came second, with Forrest following close behind, and Dampier fourth. Our champion swimmers were Neve F and Campbell F. Our Year 6 runners up champions were Lucy K and Matthew B. Although everyone showed great sportsmanship, Dynamite Dampier was awarded the Spirit Shield!!We also had a very famous Olympic swimmer called Blaire E, Mrs Lucas asked her a lot of interesting questions about her swimming life and how much she trains per week. She gave us useful tips on how to swim well. Congratulations to all the competitors, we hope you had lots of fun!
